Jumping begins on Day 2 with an introductory AFF-Tandem jump which is the perfect way to orientate yourself from the air and to better understand the landing pattern and procedures here at Skydive Algarve.
Then your skydiving experience continues with AFF Level 1.
Accompanied by, but not attached to, two expert instructors you will carry out a series of freefall exercises you have been taught, then open, fly and land the parachute yourself.
Progressing through the levels you will perform a qualifying dive on Level 7 and a low altitude exit from 5,000ft on Level 8.

SCRAMBLE IN & OUT VR4 & VR3 – September 15 & 16, 2018 at Bondues & Weembi

Forget everything you know about classic competitions, the SCRAMBLE IN & OUT changes everything! Airplane during the day, wind tunnel in the evening!

How does it work?

The composition of the teams will be drawn to mix the levels & experiences. The program of jumps (8 rounds) will surprise more than one … fun and surprises guaranteed! For the VR4, there will be in each team a coach and an outdoor videoman. For the VR3 (accessible from the B2 without VR experience), a coach with indoor video. The paraclub Bondues supports jumps coaches and videoman. There is no registration fee!

On Saturday evening we continue the scramble at WEEMBI indoor on the same principle with the VR3 & VR4 on 10 rounds (40 € / person)!

PAC flying loads on site to 13,000ft AGL every day.

Cessna’s flying off site loads to Mineral Bottom Canyon and Gemini Bridges Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunset Otter loads into Castle Valley/Sorrel River Ranch Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Jumpers need a C or D license for Mineral Bottom Canyon and Castle Valley jumps, and need a D license for Gemini Bridges.

There will be food and ice for purchase at the DZ during the day, a voucher for free wings at the Moab Brewery for Thursday evening, a FREE dinner plate Friday evening, and a $12 dinner plate Saturday evening.

Plenty of free camping space just less than 2 miles from the DZ on Blue Hills Rd where we have been camping and partying for the previous years (no RV hook ups). Camping area is basic and primative so we encourage you to BYOC (bring your own chair)! Fire and drinks provided Friday and Saturday night. It’s usually starting to get cold this time of year so bring a warm layer for evening time.

Saturday night is party night till people fall over, as well as drinks, fire, and other entertainment.

The bluSora gals and their ambassadors will be providing free organinzing for all jumpers with 200 jumps or less. Dive flows will be designed for small groups with your experience level in mind and we will give coaching tid bits troughout the day!

How the day will go:

We will meet in the am and spend a little time getting to know eachother before dividing up into small groups. We will jump together untill about 4:00pm. Each jump will be briefed, mocked up, and debriefed and we will possibly mix up the groups throughout the day!

Prerequisites to attend a camp are 200 freefall jumps, 100 of which are formation skydives.

FurtheranZe camps are an excellent way to meet other skydivers who are interested in achieving more during their skydives.

They require less commitment than a traditional skydiving team, but may help you meet people you could form a team with. FurtheranZe camps are NOT a substitute for basic flight coaching. They are a way to further develop your formation skydiving skills in a structured environment.

A’ License Club is a unique opportunity to ease yourself into the sport of skydiving. We understand that the hangar can be daunting and the idea of approaching others to jump is sometimes not as easy as it seems. Skydive Chicago will be hosting ‘A’ License Club weekends throughout the season. Led by local organizers. Days will be filled with briefings, dirt dives and jumps focusing on different techniques. And there will be goofy dives to mix things up!

Night Jumps 15.09. 2018

Maybe you have never tried it or you need it as part of a license requirement, whichever the reason, sign up in manifest before 5pm the day of the jump and experience flight in a different light!

Requirements: 

• Must sign up by 5pm on the day of scheduled night jump.
• You must have a B License or higher to participate in night jumps.
• Glow sticks or appropriate lighting (Strobe)
• Glow-in-the-dark or lighted altimeter
• Clear goggles/visor
• Must complete at least one jump during the day

Night jump kits are available for purchase at Rock Sky Market.

A mandatory briefing for the night jumps will be held 30 minutes after sunset.

Cost: 1 jump ticket (Not refundable after 5pm on day of scheduled jump.)

*Please Note: This event is for licensed skydivers. While the community is always welcome to view skydiving, there will be no fireworks or UFO/lighted skydiver jumps.

Skydive Chicago’s Rookiefest 2018 29.09 – 30.09
Skydive Chicago’s 9th Annual Rookiefest!

This is the Nationals for beginning skydivers! All rookie skydivers from any dropzone are welcome to participate in this 3-way scrambles style competition.

Teams change each round based on a random draw, but will always include one experienced ‘coach’ (members from SDC Rhythm XP, SDC Core, Rook Nelson and more!). Scores will be judged by an officially rated judge and prizes are awarded to the top three individuals.

The winner will take home a Rookiefest Trophy that will give the DZ bragging rights that they produce the best students.
We invite jumpers from all dropzones to participate. At the end of the first day join us for a brief seminar on topics that cover gear, canopy, exits, safety, competitive skydiving, formation skydiving and more! In the evening come to our famous Tiki bar to enjoy dinner and drinks.

Rookie skydivers can participate in up to 2 Rookiefest Competitions, provided they meet either of these criteria:
• Less than 200 total jumps OR
• Less than 2 years in the sport as a Rookie

Night jumps are open to any skydiver with a B License or higher. The USPA’s General Recommendations for night jumps are in the SIM Section 6-4.

A limited number of lights and glow sticks will be available to purchase from Manifest but it is recommended that you bring your own.

Slots are $30/each and we need 8 slots to make the plane fly.

The world famous $99 Jump Your Ass Off weekend is back!

$99 covers all your slots Saturday and Sunday. Come join the fun over Central Texas on Labor Day weekend and jump! jump! jump! We’ll have organizers for belly and freefly jumps and even those whacky CReW dogs will be having a good time.

Zone Accuracy Challenge 15.09
Chris Haslam former member of SDMW NEXT XP and current member of R2G will be organizing a Sport Accuracy Challenge. Following the collegiate sport accuracy rules, there will be a target painted on the ground and a 15 meter circle around the target. Competitors will do a hop and pop and try to land as close to the target as possible (must be a standup landing). Their distance is measured from first point of contact to the targets center with a maximum of 15 meters. The lowest score after a total of six rounds will win.

There will be two classes. Intermediate < 250 jumps and open >250 jumps. $30 registration fee. Winners of each class will receive the registration fees from their class. 8:30am briefing for 9am competition start.

The Beer Drinker’s Boogie (Experienced Jumper Event) 29.09 – 30.09
That’s right beer drinkers. A boogie just for you. Get your Hamm’s and coffee grounds ready. Killer skydives ALL DAY organized by Chemtrails, Evolve coaches and NEXT belly organizers! Reward your sky shredding with swoop n’ chugs, beer-do’s and all kinds of shenanigans at night.
Hamm’s Rigging Relays will take place Saturday night. Free jumps and mad respect will be awarded to winning relay team.
