Hurricane Factory Madrid
Description
HURRICANE FACTORY Madrid is for it’s diameter the biggest wind tunnel in Spain.
In a glass flight chamber, 5.2 meters in diameter and with a height of 12m, air flows at a speed of up to 270 km/hour, which is the speed of a real hurricane.
The tunnel is equipped with a recording system which means you can get a DVD or photos of your flight as a souvenir of this incredible experience.
The first wind tunnel operating under this brand is located on the suburbs of Prague, Czech Republic. It was build by a Czech engineering company Strojirny Litvinov as their first wind tunnel in 2011. It was a successful project and the tunnel is not just still operating, but getting busier every year.
In 2016, Hurricane Factory will be opening two more tunnels. One in Berlin, Germany and the other in Madrid, Spain. These two will differ from the others not just by the newest technology and design, but also by it’s size.
The round glass flying chamber of the earlier tunnels was 4.3m (14ft) in diameter. The two new tunnels will have a flying chamber with a diameter of 5.2m (17ft).
